Allan W. “Dick” Horne to be Inducted into Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame

Dover Dixon Horne name member Allan W. “Dick” Horne will be inducted posthumously to the Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2018 on October 11.

Horne served as the Arkansas Insurance Commissioner from 1968 to 1970, a position he was appointed to by Governor Winthrop Rockefeller. As Insurance Commissioner, Horne served on various committees of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, including Chairman of the Securities Committee. In 1970 he was appointed judge of the Little Rock Municipal Court, a position he held from 1970-1971. He served as principal contact and attorney for the Arkansas Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association, a position he held since the founding of the Association in 1990.

Horne passed away in January at the age of 85.

The Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame was created in 2015 to recognize leaders of the insurance industry in Arkansas. Our goals are to remind the public of the important role the insurance industry plays in securing the well-being of both individuals and businesses, to inspire the next generation of leadership to reach these high levels of accomplishment, and to encourage young Arkansans to consider careers in the insurance industry.
