Dover Dixon Horne Welcomes Three Summer Clerks

Dover Dixon Horne is pleased to welcome Jason Cline, William Mencer and Jared Needham to the firm for a summer clerkship.

“We are excited to have Jason, William and Jared join us for the summer,” member Randy Bynum said. “Each student brings a desire to learn and their interests align with our practice areas. It is our goal that they learn as much about the practice of law as they can during their time with us. In addition, this is a great opportunity for the firm to learn about what is being taught today in law schools.”

Jason Cline has an extensive business background and a love for our country. Since 2015, he has served as a Second Lieutenant in the Arkansas Army National Guard. A 2009 graduate from the University of Alaska Anchorage, Jason began his career with a number of nonprofits organizing grassroots efforts and campaign development for Americans for Limited Government and the Alaska Republican Victory Campaign. He also spent time with The Brushfire Group, where he served as director of operations. For nearly four years, Jason developed and implemented marketing strategies for healthcare, law, service industry, construction, entertainment, retail, and politics.

After six years, Jason decided to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Bowen School of Law to pursue his juris doctorate. While in school he has served as special projects manager for the Arkansas Secretary of State where he is the chief speech writer for Secretary Mark Martin.

William Mencer joins us with roots planted deep in Arkansas Delta agriculture. He is the son and grandson of a farmer where his curiosity to learn about the world around him from his father’s and grandfather’s day-to-day decisions led him to study agriculture economics law and policy at Mississippi State University. William recently completed his first year of law school at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, where he’s focusing his studies on business, agriculture, natural resources, environmental, and admiralty law during his next two years of school.

William comes to our firm having worked in our nation’s capital, working for USA Rice as a government affairs intern, where he learned about lobbying efforts on behalf of rice farmers. In his free time, William enjoys playing tennis and golf as well as hunting for whitetail deer and waterfowl with family and friends.

Jared Needham completed his first year of law school at the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville) School of Law. Jared plans to focus his studies on tax law.  A Fort-Smith native, Jared has prior law firm experience working as a legal assistant while as an undergrad at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in accounting. While at UAFS, he was named the Outstanding Accounting Major and earned the Academic Excellence in Accounting Award.

In his free time Jared enjoys volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, fishing, and playing basketball.
